Referee Classes During August 2023
 

Here is your opportunity to become a soccer referee and earn a bit of money while participating in a sport you love. There are 2 options to get you started (both courses have online classes as well as an in-person component. A referee has to recertify each calendar year):

Option 1: Small-Sided Certification

Take the Small-Sided Certification (must be 12 years old). The cost is $30. This allows you to referee in 5v5, 7v7 and 9v9 games. Pay is usually from $10 as a linesman in recreational leagues to $50 as a center referee in travel league games.

There will be a class in Bloomington, Indiana Saturday, August 5th at Karst Farm Park from 9am to 12pm.

Option 2: USSF Referee Certification

Take the USSF Referee Certification (must be be 13 years old). The cost is $95 (for 18+ candidates a background check must be done every 2 years for an additional $30). After completion of the course, you can referee in any local youth games as a linesman or center referee. Pay examples are $42 as a linesman in U13 to $70 as a center referee in U17, up to $90 for a Great Lakes Conference game.

There will be a class in Bargersville, Indiana Friday, August 11th at the South-Central Soccer Academy.
