TireRack.com is the main sponsor of the Cutters Outreach Program which provides free soccer programs to the Bloomington Boys and Girls Clubs at all three sites, Lincoln Street, Cresmont,
and Ellettsville, the Monroe County Community School Corporation School Age Care Program, TOPSoccer, and Special Olympics to name a few. Tire Rack was founded in 1979 by Peter Veldman when he opened a single retail outlet in Indianapolis, Indiana. Today Tire Rack sells tires, wheels, other accessories throughout the United States via TireRack.com and is now headquartered in South Bend.

A few facts about Tire Rack. Tire Rack tests every tire brand they sell at their performance track near their South Bend headquarters. Tire Rack is involved in a number of programs across the country that focus on driving. A few of these programs are BMW CCA Club Racing, SCCA-Sports Car Club of America, SCCA Track Night in America, and Street Survival. Street Survival is a teen driving school. Its aim is to reduce deadly crashes involving teenagers by providing a controlled setting where they can gain invaluable experience in control in a track setting with a knowledgeable coach at their side.

Interesting facts about Peter Veldman’s family. Two of his children, Marsha, and Mark, live in the Bloomington area. Both Marsha and Mark were a large part of the local adult soccer scene for many years. Mark’s children played in the Cutters’ programs. Marsha was for years the Coordinator for the Bloomington Farmers’ Market and Mark is an executive with Tire Rack.
