2021 Cutters Board of Director Nominees

Michele Kelmer

Vice President of Community (Elect)

•Michele Kelmer is dedicated to working in a collaborative and transparent environment to increase the love of soccer for the youth in our community. 

•Michele has a long history with the club’s recreational and outreach programs while supporting the current director of Community Soccer and Outreach and engaging with the travel program.

•Michele Kelmer’s previous involvement with Cutters Soccer Club includes:

o2007 -Trainer in the Community Soccer program

o2010 -Was named the director of Community Soccer, a role in which she served through spring 2015. 

o2011 -developed and administered a Community Soccer Outreach program with the MCCSC School Age Care program

o2013 -Instituted the Club’s low-cost summer soccer program to provide an opportunity for players to continue playing in a “street soccer” or pick-up format which switched the focus from coach-led instruction to player-led games.

 o2014 -Led the change from one practice night per week for U-10 and older to two practice nights. 

o2016 -Created a pilot for a developmentally-appropriate, preschool soccer program. 

o2020 –Along with her husband, Victor Kaposonore, created and ran a pilot winter indoor program to help retain girls in the Junior Cutters program and ease the transition from the Community Soccer to travel. 

oFrom 2010 to 2017, Michele served as the director for the Hoosier Cup, a local high school soccer tournament which serves as a fundraiser, now led by Bloomington North.

•Cutters Board Member (2018 –present) 

•Louis is a local youth worker in Bloomington who currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Youth Services Bureau of Monroe County.

•Two children involved in the Cutters soccer.

•I am focused on being an advocate for soccer as a tool in the community to promote Positive Youth Development. I am also interested in finding ways to increase the number of girls participating in the club at both the travel and community levels.

•Cutters Board Member (2018 –present) seeking a one year term

•I have worked for the last 2 decades through Lifeway Baptist Church to reach out to low income children. I have also worked with the elderly in nursing homes and enjoyed outreach to Veterans.

•With my professional experience I can help the Cutters board think about ways to mitigate or transfer its operationalrisk.

•Although my children do not play soccer, I would advocate for the safety of children participating in sports

• Brings a host of experience in the profit and nonprofit world, including marketing and fundraising.

•Three children involved in Cutters -Community, Travel and Referee 

•Cutters Team Manager since 2018 -Boys 07/08 Salzmann

• Formally a Division I diver, sports were a powerful force for her own growth and success in life, and she would love to help Cutters Soccer Club reach new levels

•Passionate about providing Cutters with the best fields to practice and play soccer

•Before helping people with their financial plans, I was a Peace Corp Volunteer in Costa Rica. I focused on helping small businesses improve their business practices and teaching computer literacy at the local high school.

•Local investment executive currently pursuing Ph.D at Indiana University

Guy Haskell

Guy is a local criminal defense attorney who practices in Bloomington, IN and the surrounding areas.  He is passionate about soccer and continues to play to this day.  He has been involved with Cutters SC for a number of years as he has watched his children grow-up and play in our system.  He also brings a wealth of life experience having served in numerous roles including being a lawyer, professor, paramedic as well as being an instructor in Aikido, flight and scuba diving. Guy’s love for soccer is ever-present and he hopes to continue to positively participate in the local soccer community by advocating on behalf of Cutters SC.
